FAOS AWARDS - FROME'S VERY OWN OSCARS

Members of Frome Amateur Operatic Society will shortly be rewarded for their commitment and efforts at a special FAOS Star Awards ceremony to be held on the 19th April 2008.

The event is the first for the Society and local businesses have been involved in sponsoring each of the categories. FDC Law is the sponsor of the Best Male Lead category.

Andrew Carpenter, Chairman of FAOS, said, At an Executive Committee Meeting of the Frome Amateur Operatic Society, I floated my idea of having an up market award ceremony in Frome in 2008, to celebrate all that is good in the performances within the Society. My idea was to run an event for the Operatic Society this year with a view to broadening it out to include Frome Drama Club, Frome Pantomime Company, SATCO etc. A year later, a Sub-Committee decided to include the Awards within the Annual Dinner Dance on the 19th April and Judges were picked for their wealth of judgement and experience.
