Family break-up is distressing - and finding the right outcome for you and your children is not always easy. It can be difficult to reach agreement when people are angry, hurt or confused. We aim to help you resolve family disputes by understanding the issues and working towards an agreement using our extensive experience and knowledge of this specialist and highly sensitive area of law.
Children
Family break up is always difficult, particularly so when there are children involved. At FDC Law, you can be sure that you will receive the best advice and, where necessary, representation to resolve issues regarding your children's living arrangements and their contact with you or your former partner. Our experienced team can also assist if you are seeking contact with step-children, grandchildren, or if your children are taken into care.
Domestic Abuse
Unfortunately, statistics show that around 1 in 10 people will experience violence or abuse from a partner or ex-partner at some point in their lives. Our team can ensure that you can access the help and legal protection that you need, particularly in an emergency. Where there is violence, we can usually obtain a Court Order the same day as being instructed before dealing with any additional issues such as contact or maintenance, once you are safe. If you are accused of abusing your partner, we can ensure that you are suitably represented and can offer advice about the allegations and any linked issues, such as contact with your children.

We offer a free initial consultation on a Wednesday afternoon at our drop in family surgery in Frome or by appointment at our Midsomer Norton office.
We no longer offer Legal Aid but where a client appears to be eligible for Legal Aid we will be able to advise of this and offer onward referral to a Legal Aid solicitor where appropriate.
